Along the entirety of its manufacturing chain, ROLD adopts top quality plastic material in accordance with current regulations, which apply to pollution and the presence/management of toxic substances. The entire product range is rigorously checked and certified by autonomous independent certifying bodies (European ENEC label).

Namely, the company complies with the RoHS 2 directive (Restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances), introduced by the EU in order to limit the use of substances harmful to health and the environment in electrical and electronic equipment, as well as to safely manage its entire life cycle.

In order to provide people and the environment with greater protection from the risks deriving from the use of chemicals, ROLD also complies with the EU’s REACH directive (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals)

ROLD has decided furthermore to pursue the highest moral integrity and ethical standards in all of its business sectors. With this objective, the company complies with the guidelines of two important international directives:

– the US Conflict Minerals Law; a special directive designed to raise awareness within the world of corporate business regarding the non-use of gold, tin, tantalum and tungsten from areas of the world where there are long-standing conflicts, related to the extraction and trading of these minerals (namely in the Republic of Congo and in neighbouring areas).

– Child Labour Avoidance and Human Trafficking Avoidance: guidelines from the principal international organisations, designed to protect human rights, especially those of minors.

Although ROLD is a company that works in the Business-to-Business sector, the end user, those using the electrical equipment or household appliances, receive a great deal of attention.
If the Group’s primary objective is to enhance the customer company offering systems and components able to optimise and perfect its products, it is increasingly important to focus on those who will then use such solutions.

This is why ROLD commits a wealth of resources, both in terms of skills and economic solutions, to Research in order to offer quality systems and ensure safety and reliability for the protection of the end consumer.

An eye to the community is also given with the commitment in the search for environmentally friendly materials and production cycles with lower environmental impact.

Quality certification
ROLD is ISO 9001 certified. In 2018 the triennial examination took place to confirm the maintenance of the certification aimed at ensuring the Quality System level and reliability and guarantee of the entire Company organisation. The annual inspection by CSQ, IMQ certification system, was successful. With regard to the ISO 9001 standard, the certifying body has highlighted that the company’s “Quality Management System” complies with the existing legal requirements and is adequately and functionally structured for the company’s complexity and organisational structure. A special note for merit has been awarded for the Group’s innovative capacity. “The identified and monitored indicators are focused on controlling production processes”, reads the Supervisory Report issued by CSQ, “and oriented at maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction. In this case the resourcefulness of the organisation in identifying new business ideas through the development of new products must also be noted. In this regard, the scope of the certification may be expanded in the near future.”

The Group currently also possesses the UL and CSA certifications and the IMQ annual inspection was also successful, confirming and certifying the quality levels achieved in the WMT (Witnessed Manufacturer’s Testing).
